Welcome to Portland State Professional Sound. Where's the PMB?

The Popular Music Board is now Portland State Professional Sound, but we're still the number one provider of sound reinforcement for Portland State University, and the only place PSU students can get paid hands-on training in professional sound.

Restoring the world's faith in sound guys one show at a time

Portland State Professional Sound is a group of full-time PSU students dedicated to providing sound support for student groups and for campus functions. We also provide sound reinforcement off-campus for weddings, concerts, etc. We function as a hands-on training ground for individuals interested in the live sound industry, while saving PSU students tremendous amounts of money and hassle dealing with private-sector sound companies. We are a student fee funded group, offering paid positions for student sound technicians, and volunteer opportunities for those hoping to learn about pro audio. Soon we hope to offer music recording services and event lighting.

We put on a perpetual concert series during lunchtime at PSU, and at least one national act annually. We're always available to help student groups and others with sound support.
